In all other scientific observations, when the evidence points to an intelligent cause, Science posits an intelligent cause. It should be no different when discussing the origin of the Universe.
For example, when an archeologist or paleontologist discovers an arrowhead or piece of pottery, science says that there was an intelligent cause behind it. When SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) receives a specified, complex message from outer-space, the Cosmologists posit an intelligent being behind the message. If a Cryptologist discovers an ancient language that has not been discovered before, they will posit an intelligence behind the language, even if the new language can't be deciphered.
Modern Science says that there is incredible design in the Universe. Therefore, if we are to remain consistent in our scientific method, it is not unreasonable to posit an incredible intelligent cause for the emergence of the Universe. |
